[ 7 Jan 97] Who was the father of Ermina BUCK?
Daniel Newcomb OSTRANDER and wife Ermina BUCK lived in Albany, Illinois in late 1850's. According to census records, their 'neighbor' was Duty BUCK, who was a sash and door maker. (This was also the occupation of Daniel N.) In 1857 a daughter was born to Daniel and Ermina, and they named her Isabelle Irene OSTRANDER. This family moved to Colorado sometime in 1860's, and lost contact with the cousins in Illinois⁄Wisconsin area. My research indicates that there was a killer tornado in 1860's that took life of Ivy BUCK (brother of Duty?). Can anyone give me details on BUCK⁄OSTRANDER connection? Was her father DUTY or IVY?

[15 Mar 1997] When did William Farrington die?
William Farrington came to Whiteside County from Dutchess County, New York in the mid-1830's. He was married to (1st) Emma Brooks who died about the time he left New York and (2nd) to Sarah Teats who came from New York around the same time. The sequence of events: death of Emma, relocation, marriage to Sarah, is unknown. Sarah remarried in 1850 to Harvey Sage and moved to Tazewell county with him. Presumably William died before that time. He was the father of Addison, b. 1823 in NY; Mercy, b. 1825 in NY; Eunice, b. 1827 in NY; Joseph, b. 1829 in NY; Jesse who died young; Martin Van Buren, b. 1835 perhaps in Whiteside Co.; Francis, b. 1839 in Whiteside Co. It is not clear who was the mother of Jesse and Martin. Any information on this family would be most helpful. Thanks.

[15 Mar 1997] When and where did Sarah Teats Farrington Sage die?
Sarah Teats came from New York to Whiteside County in 1836 with her brothers John C. Teats and William Teats and three sisters. Unknown if she was related to Judge Christopher Teats of Whiteside County. She married William Farrington either shortly before or after leaving New York. They were the parents of Francis M. Farrington and possibly Martin Van Buren Farrington (possibly born to William's first wife Emma Brooks). On 5 Jun 1850 Sarah married Harvey Sage in Whiteside County. Presumably William had died. Sarah and Harvey moved to Pekin, Tazewell County, to live with his family. Harvey died 7 Jun 1883 in Pekin. From a letter Sarah wrote after Harvey's death it seems likely that she then returned to Whiteside County to be with her family and may have died there.
