Thomas Matthew (Mathew) was one of the early settlers in Whiteside county, arriving from Scotland im 1834 and in Illinois in 1837. We have completed a " History of the Mathews Family " in 2007 and submitted a copy to Morrison, IL Library and the State Library in Springfield. Thomas had a 500 acre farm in Hopkins Township in Round Grove. Donald G. Mathews , great-grandson.
